The S.C.A.C. Board, appointed by the Township Council, is made up of 16 volunteers, members of the community selected from among senior citizens, residents, professionals trained and experienced in services for the elderly, and other interested residents. Committee members appear before the Township Council for the purpose of advise and consent.
Interested members of the community are welcome to attend public meetings of the S.C.A.C. These meetings are routinely held at 4:15 p.m. on the second Monday of the month unless the Montclair Municipal Building is closed. (See Event Calendar for details.)
When there is mutual interest, selected community organizations appoint liaisons to regularly attend meetings of the S.C.A.C.. Currently, representatives from the League of Women Voters, AARP, the Montclair Public Library, and Job Haimes Home serve as liaisons on S.C.A.C. committees.
